Entrepreneurship Support

The Resilient Communities, Resilient Families community organizing process uncovered an interest in increasing business ownership and local entrepreneurship as a way to grow local wealth and ownership.

Over the last year, 54 businesses have graduated from the Resilient Communities, Resilient Families Entrepreneurship training program and pitch contest. The graduates are part of a growing, very diverse pipeline of entrepreneurs from Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan who are launching or expanding businesses.

Entrepreneurs who graduate the program are offered:

  • Consultant support for business operations at a deeply discounted rate through the Center for Women and Enterprise ($15, rather than $100-$150/hr)
  • Mentorship and business development support
  • Ongoing connections to trainings and events in Boston related to small business
  • Networking opportunities with other graduates
